The nursery is conveniently situated off the A134  in Sudbury. This is an ideal location not far from the town centre. The nursery itself is divided into two units, one of which caters for children from birth to two years, while the other provides a fun and stimulating environment for the over two’s. Each room is extensively equipped with the latest nursery equipment ensuring that each child gains as many experiences possible with toys and materials appropriate to their age.

A wonderful outdoor play garden adjoins the nursery, with play equipment and an extensive range of bikes, balls and outside games. Securely fenced enabling all the children including the very young to enjoy and benefit from the fresh air.

The staff team is lead by our manager Alison who oversees the nursery as a whole always ensuring that the nursery is running to the highest of standards. All our staff are qualified to a BTEC or equivalent level (3) at least.

As part of our ongoing training staff members are constantly updating their knowledge and understanding of young children through courses and workshops and we are very lucky to have four of our staff working towards their Early Years Professional Status qualificati0n which is level 6.

Our hours of opening are 7am until 7pm.

A full time chef is on the premises making freshly prepared meals from our varied and nutritious menus which are based on the recommended ‘five a day’ portions of fruit and vegetables. Breakfast, snack, lunch and tea are provided and are included in our nursery fees, along with pampers nappies, sensitive wipes and all formula milk. We cater for a variety of specialised diets including vegetarians, gluten free and dairy-free.

At First Steps we not only exercise the mind but being directly attached to The Giggle Factory no matter what the weather, our children will always have plenty of physical exercise.

We offer home visits for every new child, the idea is to introduce your child’s key person to them in their own familiar environment. The key person will bring along a selection of nursery toys, books etc as well as an ‘All about me’ booklet which you can complete with your child. This is a completely optional service that usually lasts about an hour and is very informal. It also gives you the chance to ask any further questions you may have about the nursery and the visit will ensure your child has a familiar face to connect with on their first day.
